Happy Birthday to All

It was nobody’s birthday in particular, but I’ve decided to throw a small birthday party for Mama (20 March), Papa (2 January), Aqilah (24 January), my sister, Suhaili (26 May), my beloved Abang (10 May) and for myself (6 February). So, on my way home, I stopped at the Baker’s Cottage, bakery, bought a medium size Tiramisu Cake and a box of HAPPY BIRTHDAY candles.

Aqilah was so excited to see the cake and she started to sing the birthday song. I took out the birthday caps, left over from Aqilah’s 1st birthday party and she really just can’t wait to put it on. I had a hard time persuading her to wait for her Ayah to come home before we could slice the cake.

It was a simple celebration yet it was so wonderful.

Oh no! It is the chicken pox...

When Aqeel had finally recovered from the german measles, we noticed that small red blisters appeared on Aqilah's back. She was then brought to a nearby clinic and the doctor confirmed on what we were afraid it would be... CHICKEN POX! She started to have mild fever and the blisters keep on popping all over her body... from head to toe.

Lucky for us, my parents were with us and they had helped us a lot especially to ease up Aqilah's discomfort and itchy sensation. Thank you mama tok n papa tok n also our dearest che su.

Aqeel n German Measles

Aqeel was infected with the rubella virus or what is commonly known as german measles. It has been a week since the red spots first appeared. My husband and I mistakenly thought that the red spots were normal rashes due to the hot climate. It was when aqeel started to have mild fever and we had to bring him to a clinic then only we knew it was due to the rubella virus. The rash begins on the face and spreads downward.

Aqeel is recovering, Alhamdulillah and here are of a few photos taken during the 'spotty' period.

Nur Aqilah Liyana binti Bahtiar. Born 24 January 2008. The apple of our eyes. Nur bermaksud cahaya, Aqilah bermaksud 'yang bijak' dan Liyana bermaksud 'yang lembut'. Mudah-mudahan budi pekertinya seindah namanya. InsyaAllah.
